Darren Ward

Darren is passionate about social impact and believes everyone has the right to participate in all aspects of life to the best of their ability.  Bringing together over 20 years of skills and experience in senior leadership roles in both the private and international development sectors, Darren founded the social impact management consultancy firm ’the Direct Impact Group’ in 2014.  Working internationally, the Direct Impact Group works with private and for purpose organisations to maximise their social impact through building organisational effectiveness, facilitating partnerships and accelerating impact through funding, technology and resource utilisation.
Through his work with CBM, an international development organisation working with people with disabilities in the world’s poorest countries, Darren also has a strong understanding of the disability sector.  He was the CEO of CBM in New Zealand for over 7 years.
Chairing the Lucy Foundation Board and combining social enterprise and a strong rights-based approach excites Darren, and he sees the Lucy Foundation as a great example of how social impact will be delivered in the future.
