Darren Ward

Darren is passionate about social impact and believes everyone has the right to participate in all aspects of life to the best of their ability.  Bringing together over 20 years of skills and experience in senior leadership roles in both the private and international development sectors, Darren founded the social impact management consultancy firm the ‘Direct Impact Group’ in 2014.  Working internationally, the Direct Impact Group works with private and for purpose organisations to maximise their social impact through building organisational effectiveness, facilitating partnerships and accelerating impact through funding, technology and resource utilisation.

Through his work with CBM, an international development organisation working with people with disabilities in the world’s poorest countries, Darren also has a strong understanding of the disability sector.  He was the CEO of CBM in New Zealand for over 7 years.

Chairing the Lucy Foundation Board and combining social enterprise and a strong rights-based approach excites Darren, and he sees the Lucy Foundation as a great example of how social impact will be delivered in the future.

#DisabilityEmployment #disabilityrights #thebestcoffeeofalliscoffeeforall #filtercoffeenotpeopleA little about our lovely coffee suppliers, The Lucy Foundation. The Lucy Foundation are a disability empowerment organisation which manages an entire supply chain of coffee that is inclusive of people with disabilities from Mexico to Aotearoa.

Lovingly roasted by Able Coffee Collaborative, a disability inclusive roastery in Lower Hutt, we serve their signature Lucy blend. This includes three types of beans from Sumatra (Fair Trade/Organic), Ethiopia (Fair Trade/Organic) and Pluma Hidalgo Mexico. It makes for a full bodied coffee with a bit of kick!

We're proud to be partnering with these organisations to bring you your disability inclusive coffee, all the way from the farm to the friendly face serving you at Te Tuhi Café!

The Lucy Foundation

We're keepin' it clean! We've been using citrus fruits to make an ecological detergent to clean surfaces such as bench tops and floors. We also use it to wash dishes and clean the kitchen and bathroom at our TLF headquarters.

To help us do more of this, donate now: www.thelucyfoundation.com/donate/
